The speaker for the night was Eric Metaxas who is a renowned author and keeper of the faith.
His wife Susanne ran the Midtown Pregnancy Center in New York City for many years, and Eric is a brilliant author who wrote the biography on William Wilberforce (later made into the film “Amazing Grace”).
Eric carefully researched the life of Wilberforce who through his courage and the grace of God was able against all odds to convince the British Empire to abolish the slave trade.
Eric has recently written “Letter to the American Church” in which he “throws a bucket of water into the face of a sleeping church” to tell us “Silence in the face of evil is evil itself…Not to speak is to speak…Not to act is to act…God will not hold us guiltless.” ]

HOUSTON PLANNED PARENTHOOD
In August [2025] the country’s biggest Planned Parenthood office —located in Houston— announced its permanent closure.
The doors closed for good this week.
LOUISIANA PLANNED PARENTHOOD – ALL CLOSED
The same month, Axios reported that Planned Parenthood was closing all Louisiana locations:

Ten days ago, Wisconsin’s Planned Parenthood announced that it was pausing abortion procedures statewide:

Last week, the Houston Chronicle reported that Maine’s Planned Parenthood clinics are radically downsizing (since providing abortions disqualifies them for Medicare reimbursement):
All across the country, Planned Parenthood is in full retreat.
Without federal money, its business model is failing.
In other words, taxpayers have been holding up Planned Parenthood all this time.

Planned Parenthood officially shut down its last two clinics in Louisiana on Tuesday, leaving the state as the most populous in the country without any of the abortion provider’s locations.
With the closures in Baton Rouge and New Orleans, Louisiana joins Wyoming, North Dakota, and Mississippi as the only states without any Planned Parenthood clinics.
The shutdowns follow major federal funding cuts for abortion providers under the Republican-passed One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
“This is a win for babies, a win for mothers, and a win for LIFE!” Republican Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry posted on X Tuesday.
The GOP’s tax and spending bill, signed into law in July, blocked Medicaid funding for abortion providers.
While a federal judge initially blocked enforcement of that provision after Planned Parenthood sued the Trump administration, an appeals court lifted the injunction earlier this month.
Planned Parenthood has warned that up to 200 of its clinics could close if federal funding is cut.
So far this year, at least 41 of their facilities have closed, according to Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America.
Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast in Houston also shut down “Prevention Park,” the largest Planned Parenthood clinic in the Western Hemisphere, on Tuesday.
Undercover footage obtained by the Center for Medical Progress in 2015 allegedly showed the then-director of research of Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast discussing harvesting and selling body parts of aborted babies.
Planned Parenthood performed over 400,000 abortions in fiscal year 2023-24 and received more than $700 million in government reimbursements and grants, according to its latest annual report.
Meanwhile, private contributions dropped 31% in FY 2023-2024 compared to the previous year, totaling $684.1 million.

…The Prevention Park facility, opened in 2010 at a cost of $26 million, was a focal point of controversy, with pro-life groups like the Houston Coalition for Life protesting its construction in a predominantly Hispanic and African American neighborhood.
Critics, including pastors and pro-life leaders, called it an “abomination” for targeting minority communities and performing abortions, including late-term procedures until restricted by Texas law in 2003…

…"Planned Parenthood patients are blocked from government programs for breast and cervical cancer screenings, birth control, and other preventive healthcare due to policies enacted by the Texas Legislature," said Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas Spokesperson Autumn Williams.
Meanwhile, in Northern California, Planned Parenthood Mar Monte announced last week it plans to shut down five abortion facilities.
And Planned Parenthood is closing facilities in Indiana, New York, and Vermont, and multiple facilities in Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and Utah.
…Marjorie Dannenfelser, the president of Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, told the Catholic News Agency (CNA) that Planned Parenthood should "look in the mirror for the reason their centers are shuttering."
"Planned Parenthood's focus is on abortions, gender transitions, and political spending — all while raking in hundreds of millions from taxpayers," Dannenfelser said.
…Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life of America, praised God for the closures in Texas and said the closures in California were also a "win for babies!"
…Planned Parenthood's annual report for the '23-'24 fiscal year revealed that about 40% of the abortion network's total revenue came from taxpayer money, primarily through Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements.
In total, the abortion giant received about $800 million in public taxpayer funding.

The closures come as Planned Parenthood’s non-abortion services have decreased drastically.
Cancer screenings, breast exams, and pap smears are down by more than 50%.
Contraceptive services are down by almost 40%.
Community health centers that provide these services, and offer far more comprehensive care to their patients, outnumber Planned Parenthoods 15:1 nationally and will provide stronger health services to women and their babies on Medicaid.
