“The Danger to Americans from Unvetted Afghans Living in US”

From Donna Garner

On the day before Thanksgiving (11.26.25), West Virginia National Guard members, Specialist Sarah Beckstrom and Staff Sergeant Andrew Wolfe, were patrolling near the Farragut West Metro Station in Washington, D.C. when they were ambushed by an Afghan man with a .357-caliber Smith & Wesson revolver.

The shooter deliberately shot both guardsmen in the head; and when the shooter ran out of ammunition, he picked up Specialist Beckstrom’s rifle and kept shooting at her as she lay on the pavement.

Staff Sergeant Wolfe took cover in a bus stop shelter but was shot again and again by the attacker.

Other guardsmen returned fire and were able to wound and disarm the shooter --
29-year-old Afghan national Rahmanullah Lakanwal.

Guard member Beckstrom died from her wounds on 11.29.25, but Guard member Wolfe remains in critical condition as of 11.30.25.

On 11.26.25, Afghan Rahmanullah Lakanwal was charged with the ambush of the two West Virginia National Guard members.

ANOTHER AFGHAN SHOOTER CAUGHT IN TEXAS

One day before Afghan Lakanwal staged his ambush of the two National Guard members in Washington, D. C., Afghan Mohammad Dawood Alokozay was caught by the Texas Dept. of Public Safety and the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force for posting online a video of himself describing how he had built a bomb to target the Ft. Worth area. Lakanwal was taken into custody on 11.26.25.

Both Afghans Alokozay and Lakanwal were brought to the U. S. in August 2021 under the same, failed Biden administration program which was called Operation Allies Welcome
(often abbreviated OAW).

TRUMP ADMINISTRATION REVIEWING AFGHANS WHO CAME TO AMERICA

The Trump administration has called for a review of everyone who entered from Afghanistan under the Biden administration; has ordered a pause on further processing of visa and asylum applications for Afghan nationals; and is implementing tighter, closer screening of migrants/refugees from Third World countries.

WHAT HAPPENED IN KABUL UNDER BIDEN ADMINISTRATION?

What exactly happened in Kabul under the Biden administration?

To get the facts, many times it helps to go back to articles written at the time events occurred.

Thankfully Henry W. Burke has written and published on my website
-- DONNAGARNER.ORG three very well-researched and well-documented articles from Aug. through Sept. of 2021.

To help us all remember what happened in Afghanistan, here are a few statements and excerpts taken from his articles.

The complete three articles can be utilized by going to

THE DAMAGE DONE BY THE BIDEN ADMIN – EXCERPTS FROM HENRY W. BURKE’S THREE ARTICLES WRITTEN AT THE TIME

Approximately 9,100 Americans were left stranded in Taliban-controlled Afghanistan when the withdrawal deadline of 8.31.21 expired.

This left the Americans without the presence of the U. S. Armed Forces to protect them from the cruelty of the Taliban members.

How will these 9,100 stranded Americans ever get out of the war-torn country controlled by the Taliban?

BIDEN’S TERRIBLE DECISION TO CLOSE BAGRAM AIR BASE

Without question, the very worst decision of the U. S. withdrawal from Afghanistan was the closing of Bagram Air Base (the largest air base in Afghanistan).

This closing of Bagram Air Base was one of Biden’s worst blunders.

Bagram Air Base (43 miles north of Kabul) is a well-fortified base with two long runways.

With Bagram closed, this forced all evacuation efforts
[of those Americans trying to escape from Afghanistan and the Taliban] into the Kabul International Airport, an airport surrounded by millions of Afghans and thousands of terrorists.

Importantly, Bagram is uniquely positioned because it is not far from Iran, Pakistan, and China.

America lost this valuable air base when the Taliban took it over under Biden’s administration in 2021.

WHAT IS ABBEY GATE?

On 8.26.21 Abbey Gate at Kabul International Airport took place in which 13 U. S. Troops were killed – 12 Marines and one Navy Medic.

At that time, this was the largest loss of U. S. military personnel in 10 years.

BIDEN ADMINISTRATION VERY VAGUE ABOUT THE NUMBERS

The Biden Administration has been very vague about two sets of numbers: (1) How many Americans are in Afghanistan? and (2) How many people have been evacuated from Kabul, Afghanistan?

On Tuesday, 8.17.21, the White House said about 11,000 Americans remain in Afghanistan.

Other U. S. officials have revealed that between 10,000 and 15,000 U. S. citizens were in Afghanistan when the evacuation started.

Some sources have placed the number of Americans in Afghanistan as high as 40,000!

The Biden Administration has purposely hidden the number of evacuees that have been flown out of Kabul, Afghanistan.

5% OF AMERICANS EVACUATED COMPARED TO 95% OF AFGHANS EVACUATED

The U.S. started the recent evacuation effort from the Kabul International Airport on Saturday, August 14, 2021.

From Aug. 14 – 27, 2021, only 5% of Americans compared to 95% of Afghans (and Third World Countries) were evacuated from Kabul.

This means that basically the airlift was for Afghans who had not been properly vetted and who came to America to live in towns “near you.”

Tragically, most of those Americans abandoned by Biden in Afghanistan have undoubtedly suffered death and/or torture under the Taliban.

BIDEN’S “KILL LIST” FURTHER ENDANGERED THE LIVES OF AMERICANS

Unbelievably, under Pres. Biden, the Taliban was given a “Kill List” of the
names of American citizens, green card holders, and Afghan allies

The foolish Biden officials thought the Taliban could use the list to facilitate passage of these people through the Taliban checkpoints leading to the Kabul Airport.

Instead, undoubtedly, when the Taliban was left in control after the pull-out of the American troops, these people were rounded up and ruthlessly tortured or killed.

11 MAJOR BLUNDERS MADE BY BIDEN ADMINISTRATION

Here are the 11 Major Blunders made by the Biden administration in this Afghanistan crisis
--
9.11.21 -- “Biden’s Afghanistan Hostage Crisis: Part 2 of 3”- by Henry W. Burke  https://donnagarner.org/bidens-afghanistan-hostage-crisis-part-2-of-3/

1. Announcing that August 31, 2021 was the self-imposed date for the U. S. withdrawal from Afghanistan:  More than being concerned about protecting U. S. citizens, Biden wanted a September 11 photo-op.

2. Withdrawing in the totally wrong order.  Biden pulled out the U.S. Armed Forces, then evacuated the U.S. Embassy personnel, and then attempted to evacuate the Americans from Afghanistan.  He should have removed the Americans, the Embassy people, and finally the U.S. troops -- in that order.

3. Closing Bagram Air Base (the largest base in Afghanistan).  Bagram Air Base (43 miles north of Kabul) is a well-fortified base with two long runways.  With Bagram closed, this forced all evacuation efforts into the Kabul International Airport, an airport surrounded by millions of Afghans and thousands of terrorists.

4. Not permanently retaining Bagram Air Base: Biden should have retained Bagram Air Base for evacuation efforts and for future military staging purposes in the region.

5. Handing control of the evacuation effort over to the State Department: Should have given evacuation effort to the Defense Department.

6. The mistake of assuming the Taliban are friends of America and working with the Taliban to evacuate Americans:  The Taliban are deadly terrorists!

7. Terrible idea – providing a “Kill List” to the Taliban:  Biden basically is a traitor to American citizens, green card holders, and Afghan allies.

8. Allowing the Taliban to release thousands of prisoners from various facilities, including the prison at Bagram Base:  Five of the former Guantanamo Bay detainees from the Bagram prison are now in positions of authority in the new Taliban “government.”

9. Foolishly giving up control of important places: The whole city of Kabul was handed over to the Taliban along with control of the Kabul Airport.

10. Using poor vetting of thousands of Afghans being flown to America: Any Afghans who made it to the Kabul Airport were invariably allowed to board the planes.  Undoubtedly, many Taliban terrorists have slipped into the C-17 evacuation planes.

11. Allowing a huge inventory of valuable military equipment to fall into the hands of Taliban terrorists: Please refer below to the list of American weaponry foolishly left behind by Biden for the Taliban.

RECKLESS BIDEN POLICIES LEFT TALIBAN ARMED WITH AN ARSENAL

To make things even worse, when the U. S. pulled out of Afghanistan under Biden’s reckless direction, we left the Taliban with an arsenal of U. S.-made weaponry.

Retired Lt. Col. Oliver North said recently that the Taliban is now the "best armed criminal enterprise in the history of mankind."

To see a list of armaments America left behind, please go to this article to see a detailed chart

AFGHAN MUSLIM BELIEFS

Most Afghans believe that a Muslim who converts to another faith must be killed.

They follow Sharia Law, where husbands can beat their wives and even kill them in so-called “Honor Killings.”

Because Muslims believe in Sharia Law, they think the U.S. should be ruled by Sharia Law, instead of following the U.S. Constitution.
