***COMMENTS FROM DONNA GARNER: Federal U. S. District Judge Robert Pitman is one of the most liberal-leftist judges in Texas. He continually has his politically motivated judgments overturned on appeal. Judge Pitman has just ordered Llano County officials to return banned books back to its libraries.
As per usual, Judge Pitman’s politically motivated judgment will be appealed; and Jonathan Mitchell is representing the Llano defendants.
Jonathan Mitchell is the brilliant attorney who helped to craft SB 8 (Texas’ SB 8 “Heartbeat” bill) that allows a private citizen to sue for $10,000 any person involved in carrying out an abortion. The bill went into effect in Texas on 9.1.21.
Thankfully, the Llano County officials have hired the right person to help win their case – Jonathan Mitchell.
This Austin American-Statesman has done the public a favor because this article lists the names of the banned books.

A federal district court judge in Austin has issued a preliminary injunction ordering Llano County officials to return all books they had previously removed from shelves in the county's library system.
In the order filed Thursday, U.S. District Judge Robert Pitman [the politically motivated, liberal-leftist judge] also prohibited the county from removing any additional books while the court case is pending, and required the library system’s catalog to be updated to reflect that the books that were removed are again available.
…Among the defendants listed in the case are Llano County Judge Ron Cunningham, Commissioner Jerry Don Moss, Library System Director Amber Milum and members of the library board. Jonathan Mitchell, an attorney who has crafted several pieces of conservative legislation, including the state’s six-week abortion ban, is representing the defendants.
…Pitman’s order marks a significant victory for the plaintiffs, though the Texas Tribune has reported that the defendants are appealing the judge’s ruling.
The list of removed books that now must be returned to Llano County libraries’ includes:
- "Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents" by Isabel Wilkerson
