“Pres. Trump Endorses Ken Paxton Over John Cornyn for U.S. Senate”

On 5.19.26, Pres. Trump announced his firm endorsement of Ken Paxton (presently Texas’ Attorney General) to be Texas’ next U. S. Senator.

The President's endorsement comes as the two Republicans head to a May 26, 2026 runoff because neither candidate had 50% plus one vote to win the March 3, 2026 Primary.

Pres. Trump stated:

"Ken is a true MAGA Warrior who has ALWAYS delivered for Texas, and will continue to do so in the United States Senate…

[U.S. Senator] John Cornyn is a good man, and I worked well with him, but he was not supportive of me when times were tough. John was very late in backing me in what turned out to be a Historic Run for the Republican Nomination, and then, the Presidency [First Term].

Paxton has gone through a lot, in many cases, very unfairly, but he is a Fighter and knows how to WIN. Our Country needs Fighters and also Loyalty to the Cause of Greatness.”

Paxton’s response:

“I am incredibly honored to have President Trump’s COMPLETE AND TOTAL ENDORSEMENT. No one has ever fought harder for the American people than President Trump, and I look forward to championing his America First agenda in the Senate!

“I have consistently stood by President Trump, even when the Washington establishment and career politicians like John Cornyn turned their back on the President. Now, I look forward to winning this critical Senate seat and delivering victory after victory for the people of Texas.”

KEN PAXTON AS TEXAS ATTORNEY GENERAL -- LEADER

When liberal-left Biden became President in Jan. 2021, Paxton (who was elected as the Texas Attorney General in 2015) kept right on LEADING the TAG’s excellent staff of well-chosen legal minds toward implementation of conservative rulings, decisions, lawsuits, and legal opinions.

TAG Paxton relentlessly continued his Constitution-focused directives during the four miserable years under Biden.

Of course, since Pres. Trump’s election, Paxton is working in coordination with the Trump administration and with other AG’s from around the country to achieve principled outcomes.

TAG Paxton has a large staff of close to 4,050 employees throughout the state, 750 of whom are well-selected attorneys.

Paxton has shown his leadership skills repeatedly by hiring the best qualified people and by setting the TAG agenda.

Whatever his team members do has to be approved by Paxton first. He leads instead of “following from behind” and “playing politics.”

Since he was elected as TAG in 2015, Paxon has produced 519 numbered opinions.

Whether or not Paxton is running for another office or is under personal attack, the flow of decisions from his TAG office has continued in a CONSTANT stream.

This indicates to me that he is the kind of leader who will be fully dedicated when he becomes our new U. S. Senator. We can be assured that when he wins the Senate race, he will keep up the same solid work ethic that he has followed at the TAG’s office.

Under U. S. Senator John Cornyn for 23 years, we here in Texas only heard from him every six years when he was up for re-election.

I can honestly say that I do not remember a single, pro-family, conservative bill that he wrote and aggressively passed.
